Chris Spedding made his name as one of England's most in-demand session guitarists, lending his sharp, rock & roll-edged playing to artists from Roxy Music to Elton John. His own recordings mix pub rock swagger with a knack for melody, best known through the hit single "Motorbiking".
Born in Staveley, Derbyshire in 1944, Spedding built a career spanning more than fifty years, moving between session work, production and band membership. He played with groups including Nucleus, The Wombles and Jerry Harrison's Casual Gods, worked alongside Jack Bruce, Pete Brown and John Cale, and produced the earliest Sex Pistols recordings in 1976.
